Divorced with three young daughters, a North Dakota single mother moved from place to place while getting her college degree and working multiple jobs, eventually finding an affordable home in which to settle down. Her youngest daughter, who recently became Miss North Dakota 2018, credits her mom's tenacity and a stable home life with giving her the self-confidence and ability to overcome childhood challenges.
