NeighborWorks America Celebrates Building Stronger Communities and More Affordable Housing during 42nd Annual Week of Service

Washington, D.C. — NeighborWorks America and its network of local organizations across the U.S. are observing NeighborWorks Week June 7-14. Throughout this week, NeighborWorks network organizations will celebrate how NeighborWorks, business, local government and residents come together to empower people to transform their lives through affordable housing development and homeownership. Held during National Homeownership Month, events around the country will highlight resident-led innovative partnerships that develop and sustain affordable rental and homeownership opportunities.

“NeighborWorks Week is a chance to really highlight what we’re building with the network,” says NeighborWorks America’s President & CEO Marietta Rodriguez. “That means homes, both rented and owned. It means businesses that employ local people. And it means partnerships and connections. It is truly my favorite week of the year because it shows just how far our reach extends, and how much we can build together.”

Here are some examples that highlight NeighborWorks America and its network's impact

  • In fiscal year 2024 amid higher mortgage rates and home prices, NeighborWorks America, through its network, created 16,300 new homeowners.
  • In fiscal year 2024, NeighborWorks America, through its network, owned and/or managed 211, 900 homes.
  • In fiscal year 2024, NeighborWorks America, through its network, created and supported 48,900 jobs.

During NeighborWorks Week, you can find events in communities across the country that highlight how network organizations are helping to create homes and build America.
