NeighborWorks America Reports $2.6 Billion in Total Affordable Housing Investment and More than 260,000 Households Helped in First Quarter Fiscal Year 2025
Washington, D.C. – NeighborWorks America announced today housing activities by its nationwide network of nonprofit community development organizations resulted in $2.56 billion of total investment into the creation and preservation of affordable homeownership and rental housing. Federal investment in NeighborWorks America is an efficient and effective way to deliver affordable housing dollars, with every dollar of federal appropriation multiplied 71 times on behalf of individuals and families across America.
“Each day, the NeighborWorks network, fueled with financial and technical support from NeighborWorks America, delivers efficient and meaningful affordable housing solutions in communities across America,” said NeighborWorks America President & CEO Marietta Rodriguez. “NeighborWorks America is pleased to be aligned with the Administration and its efforts to focus resources to lower the cost of housing and expand housing supply as stated in the January 20 Executive Order.””
In the quarter that ended Dec. 31, 2024, NeighborWorks and our network created and preserved affordable homeownership for more than 6,800 households. And with rents still too high in many parts of America, NeighborWorks affiliates cut through red tape to build or preserve more than 1,900 affordable apartments, increasing the total rental home portfolio to 212,445.
Overall, more than 260,000 individuals and families were assisted with affordable housing and essential homeownership and related counseling services in the quarter ended Dec. 31.
NeighborWorks America will report housing investment results for the quarter ending March 31, 2025, on June 20, 2025.
