HO250vcx Homeownership Counseling Certification: Principles, Practices and Techniques, Part I - Accelerated Faculty-led Course
By providing practical applications, this course equips counselors with the necessary skills, procedures, and subject matter expertise to assist new homeowners in achieving success. Learners will gain the skills to conduct personalized counseling sessions that address money management systems, savings, credit history, and debt obstacles to homeownership. Additionally, they will learn how to utilize state-of-the-art industry tools, techniques, and resources to practice various counseling activities, including but not limited to mortgage readiness and housing affordability assessment, standardized income calculations, and action plan development. The course includes requirements for housing counseling mechanics such as file management, codes of conduct, and operational guidelines for HUD and the National Industry Standards for Homeownership Education and Counseling. To obtain full certification in pre-purchase homeownership counseling, it is necessary to complete both this course and the Foreclosure Basics course (HO109 Foreclosure Basics or HO109el) and successfully pass the corresponding exam(s).
Enroll in our accelerated two-week faculty-led course which is designed for optimal interactivity and engagement. The first week is comprised 2 hours of live online instruction Monday through Friday. The second week is comprised of 2 hours of live online instruction Monday through Wednesday. Each course day may include self-paced completion of course activities and assignments. All required coursework is due by 11:59 p.m. PT on the designated day of class specified in the activity or assignment.

NOTE: Learners must complete all required coursework in a satisfactory manner to receive their certificate of completion. A passing score in this course is 80% based on the total course points available.
