ED110 Analytical Tools and Methods Used in Community Economic Development

This course introduces you to essential data collection and analysis techniques for understanding and improving local economies. Explore primary and secondary data sources, learn to design effective surveys, and apply quantitative and qualitative analysis methods. The course covers trend and comparative analysis, inflation adjustment, and the use of ratios for economic comparison. You will become familiar with business classification systems and key questions addressed in community economic analysis. Through hands-on exercises and real-world examples, you’ll develop the skills needed to assess your community, evaluate projects, and inform economic development planning.
