At NeighborWorks® America, the data tells the story of new homeowners. It tells the story of homes repaired and of communities working together to make their neighborhoods what they want them to be. It tells the story of families and individuals connecting to education, to jobs and to better health, all by finding a safe place to call home.
NeighborWorks’ annual impact report highlights the data of NeighborWorks and the network – and the stories behind it.
The data shows a network focusing intently on local communities, providing regional solutions and scaling those solutions. Among the highlights from the last fiscal year: 216,800 rental homes provided; 11,400 homeowners with preserved homes; 17,600 homeowners created. Behind each number is a real person or a real family, on the road to a better life.
“At NeighborWorks America, we believe that everyone deserves a place to call home and that our country is stronger when individuals and families have access to safe, stable and affordable housing,” NeighborWorks President & CEO Marietta Rodriguez explained in her letter accompanying the report. “As our nation approaches the 250th anniversary of its founding, the importance of this work takes on even greater significance. Expanding access to affordable housing and strengthening communities is essential to building a more resilient and prosperous future for the next generation.”
NeighborWorks America has worked for nearly 50 years to deliver results in communities serving every state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and on Native lands. “These organizations are rooted in their communities and equipped to deliver results that matter,” Rodriguez said.
Results like the 102,900 customers counseled and/or educated on housing and financial capability. Results like the 16,100 training certificates issued to affordable housing and community development practitioners.
A trusted steward of congressional resources, for every dollar of its federal appropriation, NeighborWorks leveraged the impact $74:1.
There’s no question that fiscal year 2025 has been a tough year, filled with rising costs and persistant supply challenges. But NeighborWorks and its network have continued to find solutions, to build and to grow. The takeaway is simple: When local expertise and national resources work together, we create solutions that scale.
