Anthony K. Chandler, PhD, serves as Vice President of National Real Estate Programs at NeighborWorks America, where he leads national strategies to advance affordable housing development, asset management, capital alignment, sustainability, and organizational capacity building across the NeighborWorks network.

In this role, Anthony drives efforts to align financial, technical, and programmatic resources to enhance the capacity and impact of network organizations nationwide. He brings extensive leadership experience in affordable housing, community development, real estate finance, and organizational strategy, along with a strong commitment to mission-driven outcomes and a collaborative leadership approach.

With more than 30 years of experience, Anthony’s expertise spans nonprofit capacity building, affordable housing redevelopment, urban economic planning and design, and sustainable real estate and community development. His work has focused on expanding access to affordable housing while promoting reinvestment in underserved communities, resulting in transformative developments and measurable community improvements across the United States.

Guided by his philosophy of “bringing communities back to life,” Anthony has worked to strengthen local economies, support minority business development, and foster public-private partnerships that create opportunities for mixed-use urban development. He is deeply committed to advancing NeighborWorks America’s role in delivering impactful housing and community development solutions that improve resident outcomes nationwide.

Anthony holds a Ph.D. in Urban Planning and Public Policy and a Master of Science in Real Estate from the University of Texas at Arlington. He also earned a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Augusta University.
