Planning your group learning is easy! NeighborWorks is here to support you along the way to ensure an optimal learning experience.
Step 1
Consider your audience. Who could benefit from learning with you? Which partners share in your challenges and opportunities? Who supports the work you do? What need areas do you all have, and where could your work and approaches be strengthened or broadened? We recommend up to approximately 35 learners per course.Step 2
Given the needs of your group and your shared learning objectives, browse our complete course catalog and find matches. Some things to remember:
- Like college courses, our courses have “levels” (100, 200, 300) that reflect how advanced the content is. 100-level courses present a great background, and 300-level courses go more in-depth.
- To make it even more convenient for your learners, note that you can build an “event” with in-person as well as online courses. Maybe an online “prerequisite” to get your learners on the same page before an in-person session?
- Although you might be considering a technical subject (e.g., how to market your financial capability program), remember that courses in our Nonprofit Management and Leadership track (such as a branding course) might complement your learning.
Step 3
Contact NeighborWorks to explore costs and availability of faculty. When you’re happy with the logistics, we’ll both sign a Memo of Understanding to finalize. Then NeighborWorks will:- Engage a trainer
- Set your group up with access to an online registration site
- Produce and ship course materials
- After the session, issue course completion certificates
Step 4
Plan the event logistics – where it will take place, how to handle participant travel (if necessary), food and beverage needs, audio/visual equipment.Step 5
