HO203b HUD's Emergency Homeowner Loan Program

In 2010, two new programs were introduced to help homeowners who have experienced underemployment or unemployment due to the current economic conditions. The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act provided $1 billion to HUD to implement the Emergency Homeowners Loan Program (EHLP). This program is designed to assist borrowers in Puerto Rico and 32 states otherwise not funded by Treasury’s Innovation Fund for Hardest Hit housing markets. This course will provide an overview of the EHLP program requirements and process for counseling organizations to assist clients. Note: This program is state-specific. Please check the program website to determine availability in your state prior to enrolling.
