Course Details

In 2010, two new programs were introduced to help homeowners who have experienced underemployment or unemployment due to the current economic conditions. The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act provided $1 billion to HUD to implement the Emergency Homeowners Loan Program (EHLP). This program is designed to assist borrowers in Puerto Rico and 32 states otherwise not funded by Treasury’s Innovation Fund for Hardest Hit housing markets. This course will provide an overview of the EHLP program requirements and process for counseling organizations to assist clients.

Note: This new “Part 2” is a completely updated version of the one-day course HO203. It is designed to prepare counseling agencies for the process they must follow as they assist EHLP borrowers who are nearing the end of their EHLP assistance period. The course will also touch on recertification (Level 5c) program requirements as specified by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development EHLP guidelines.
