What do we do at NeighborWorks America? What is community development? This video explains how our work is vital to people and places nationwide. 

Since 1978, we have been committed to our mission to create opportunities for people to live in affordable homes, improve their lives and strengthen their communities. We believe in locally-driven community development, innovative solutions, and partnerships that transcend public, private and geographic boundaries. For more than 35 years, we have used grants, technical assistance, training, public outreach and strategic partnership development to help invigorate the community development field.

The NeighborWorks network consists of more than 240 of the nation’s best community development organizations.We at NeighborWorks America build the skills, supplement the resources and amplify the reach of these organizations so they can build more houses, empower more individuals and transform more communities than they would be able to do on their own.

Together, we strive to be responsive to local needs and to leverage public and private sector resources to better the lives of millions of American families.
