When Johnny Carter moved to his new neighborhood in Moorhead, Mississippi, he found a host of problems. But he stepped up and helped lead the residents in a lawsuit to help residents get the attention and resources they needed to clean up their community. And now Carter is being recognized with a NeighborWorks America Dorothy Richardson Award for Resident Leadership.

Mother's determination to provide a stable home is the foundation for daughter's success
Divorced with three young daughters, a North Dakota single mother moved from place to place while getting her college degree and working multiple jobs, eventually finding an affordable home in which to settle down.
