For nearly 12 years, Sarah Parmenter has led NeighborWorks America’s community building and engagement work. She oversees strategy and programming to strengthen and elevate resident leadership and resident-driven solutions within NeighborWorks America and the NeighborWorks network. She provides leadership to the annual Community Leadership Institute
(CLI), Dorothy Richardson Awards for Resident Leadership
, and Building Leaders, Building Community Program
. NeighborWorks has trained more than 10,000 community leaders and provided more than $3 million to support resident-led community projects that support affordable housing and community development. Prior to joining NeighborWorks, Sarah provided capacity building and technical assistance to community-based health coalitions in southeastern Massachusetts. She has a master's degree in community development and planning from Clark University and a bachelor's degree from Catholic University.
