We offer training, technical assistance and selected grants to NeighborWorks organizations that own or manage affordable rental homes. These efforts build more informed and more energized organizations to meet the needs of the people they serve and to succeed as businesses.
We work with our multifamily partners to actively involve the board members so that they can exercise their role in planning and risk management. We provide them training and technical support so they can make decisions that support the operations of the rental homes and residents who live in them.
For 35 years we've been helping our network organizations provide quality affordable housing support to their communities. This work is built on the foundations of excellent asset managementt. You can benefit from participating in two of our programs which are open to the public:
Strength Matters
This web-based resource center takes asset management to the next level. Based on advanced financial analysis, and using a sophisticated data warehouse that permits industry wide performance benchmarking, this creates a platform to optimize our use of resources and maximize the portfolio performance. CHAM certification and training
We co-created the Consortium of Housing and Asset Management (CHAM) with Enterprise Community Partners and LISC. Our goal has been to train and certify nonprofit housing asset managers so they can better serve their organizations and the residents of their affordable housing properties.
The CHAM curriculum is the core asset management training program at the NeighborWorks America. This series of six required courses and many elective courses, lead to the designation of CHAM Asset Manager.
