This course draws lessons from successful Resident Leadership Training programs from across the nation—from San Francisco’s Chinatown, through Salt Lake City and Nebraska, to New Haven, Connecticut. Learn from different models of Resident Leadership Training: how they are organized, who participates, what do they cost, how much staff-time they take, and what makes them successful. The course will prepare you to assess your options before starting a new Resident Leadership Training program, and to enhance or expand an existing program. Review the basic questions you must answer before launching a new program or a program expansion. Learn to be intentional in targeting, reaching out to and selecting participants. Understand how to maximize resources, and work with a limited budget.
