One-in-three U.S. adults has no emergency savings despite improving economy
According to the second annual financial capability survey from NeighborWorks America, 34 percent of adults in America – more than 72 million people – say they don’t have any emergency savings.

$44.8 Million awarded through National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling program to help nearly 130,000 families
NeighborWorks America announced that $44.8 million has been awarded to 25 state housing finance agencies (HFAs), 18 HUD-approved housing counseling intermediaries, and 68 community-based NeighborWorks organizations to provide counseling to families and individuals facing the threat of foreclosure.

NeighborWorks America reported that in the 12 months ended Sept. 30, 2014 its network helped homeowners rehab more than 7,000 single family homes and rehabbed more than 2,300 rental homes.

Paul Weech, a longtime leader in the housing and community development field, has been named president and CEO of NeighborWorks America by the NeighborWorks America Board. Chuck Wehrwein, the acting president and CEO, will return to his position as chief operating officer.

Seventy percent of U.S. adults don’t know down-payment assistance is available
