Project Reinvest: Financial Capability
Project Reinvest: Financial Capability is designed to provide funding for organizations to provide financial capability counseling/coaching that will help clients stabilize their finances, rebuild credit and establish savings.
Funds will be awarded to applicants with demonstrated experience in providing financial capability services to clients. Additional funds will be made available to supplement selected organizations’ existing matched savings programs.
The funding opportunity is open to:
- HUD-approved housing counseling intermediaries.
- State housing finance agencies.
- NeighborWorks organizations.
- National, regional and state financial capability intermediaries.
National financial capability intermediaries must have a minimum of 10 sub-grantees, branches or affiliates; regional financial capability intermediaries must operate in one regional area and have a minimum of five sub-grantees, branches or affiliates; and state financial capability intermediaries must operate solely in one state and have a minimum of five sub-grantees, branches or affiliates.
All financial capability intermediaries must have a minimum of three years of experience as a financial capability intermediary.
User registration to complete the application will be available January 2017 and will need to be approved by NeighborWorks America prior to having access to the application. Visit the NeighborWorks Grants Portal to complete the application.

How to Apply
In mid-January, the applicant will have access to the online application through the NeighborWorks America Grants Portal. The applicant will sign in to the portal and select Apply Now to access the Project Reinvest: Financial Capability application.
Please note that applications will only be accepted via NeighborWorks America's Grants Portal. Submission of hard-copy applications is not permitted.
