June 4-11, 2016
Each June, NeighborWorks America and its network of local organizations mobilize tens of thousands of volunteers, businesspeople, neighbors, friends, and local and national elected and civic leaders in a week of neighborhood change and awareness.
Since its inception in 1983, NeighborWorks Week showcases how the NeighborWorks network strengthens communities and celebrates our collective impact as a network.
In June, 200 NeighborWorks network organizations across the U.S. hosted events that embodied this year's theme "Creating Opportunity."
Some of this year's highlights included:
- Building a playground.
- Rappelling to rehabilitate older homes.
- Hosting an art party to celebrate the completion of tiny homes.
- Celebrating 30 years of creating opportunity with a house warming that features local artists.
- Hosting an international food festival.
